Who We Are-

Mara James Company was born in Richmond, Virginia - out of curiosity, creativity, and a mind that never stops exploring. After years in a demanding professional career, Mara did what came naturally: she created.

It started with candles, wax melts, and soaps. Then came gold-plated jewelry, then sterling silver - a medium she fell in love with for its beauty and its imperfections. Now add oil pastel paintings to the mix, chosen for their messiness, their unpredictable edges, and their refusal to be perfectly contained.

That’s kind of the point.

At Mara James, we believe life doesn’t need to be perfect to be beautiful. Why should your jewelry? Why should your art? An apple can be blue. A silver edge can be rough. A small, simple piece can bring just as much joy as anything elaborate or expensive.

Behind the scenes, James keeps everything running - from operations to market days - making sure every order and every event reflects the same care that goes into every product.

We are two people, one studio, and a whole lot of intention. We make things that bring a little joy - for your home, your style, and your everyday life.
