Candle Safety Tips

Follow these simple tips to get a great safe burn.

  1. Keep it trimmed.
    1. Before lighting, trim the wick to ¼ inch using scissors or a wick trimmer for a clean, safe burn and extend the candle lifespan.
  2. Let it burn.
    1. Allow the wax to melt to the edges of the jar every burn to prevent an uneven burn.
  3. Safety First
    1. Never leave a candle unattended or burn for longer than 3-4 hours.
    2. Protect the surface below the candle from heat using a coaster or a tile.
    3. Keep lit candles away from air vents, drafts, ceiling fans, flammable objects, small children, and pets.
    4. Use caution when handling; containers get hot.
    5. Never extinguish candles with water.
  4. When to stop.
    1. Do not burn your candle if only ¼  to ½ inches of wax remains. The jar can overheat if there is not enough wax in the container.
  5. Reuse and Recycle
    1. When you are finished with the candle, clean it out. Excellent for holding loose change, pens, and pencils. Get creative and reuse it. Give that candle jar a second life.
